Simon Says Stamp April 2018 Card Kit Week 2 Inspiration | Foiling

Hello and happy Friday! For this week's Simon Says Stamp Card Kit inspiration video, I decided to try my hand at foiling with the Gina K Designs Fancy Foil that came in the kit. On these two cards, I used a technique I saw in one of Jennifer McGuire's videos. I must admit I was a bit nervous since I didn't have any 'extra' foil with which to practice and experiment. I think they both turned out pretty and it was a learning experience. I see a purchase of foil in my not so distant future. 😋 If you'd like to watch my process video, I'll have it at the bottom of the post. Have a fabulous crafty weekend!

Simon Says Stamp Card Kit April 2018 | 2 Encouragement Cards

As I hinted in a previous post, I've decided to change up how I do my monthly card kits. Instead of doing the 10 Cards 1 Kit, I want to do weekly inspiration videos where I share my process for 1-3 cards created with the kit. I feel like this will enable me to be more creative and to enjoy the kits more. I would love your feedback on this idea!

Here are my two cards for this week - both encouragement cards. 💗

Be sure to come back next week for more inspiration!

Get Creative Challenges | Challenge #68 | April 2018

I'm so very excited to be sharing my first design team project for the Get Creative Challenges blog! The April challenge is to use No Patterened Paper. I love patterned paper so I thought this might be a little difficult for me, but I actually love the way my card turned out. The digi image I used, Kitty's Teacup Strayz is from Lacy Sunshine. If you haven't checked out this digital image shop, you really should! They have a huge selection of beautiful images for you to color!
Anyone who knows me knows that I adore kitties so when I saw the Strayz Collection the only decision to make was which of the sweet images to use for my project. I printed my image on Spectrum Noir cardstock and colored it with my Spectrum Noir Markers. From my stash, I used pale pink and yellow cardstocks, a pretty pink doily, white ribbon, and yellow enamel dots to assemble my card. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set How You Bean.

I hope you'll consider playing along with this month's challenge over on the Get Creative Challenges Blog and be sure to check out all the other fabulous creations from the design team members!
Thanks for stopping by!

April Plans

If you watched my last video, I mentioned that I have been sick and that most of the plans I had for March simply didn't happen. In addition to my being sick, we had issues with weather and power outages. It seems like the entire month of March was up in the air. I'm hoping April will be much calmer and I can get back into the swing of things. During my down time, I had a lot of time to think about what direction I want to go with my youtube channel and I have tons of fun new content planned! First up, is the Simon Says Stamp April kit. It's in hand and I can't wait to get started creating! I'm thinking of doing something different with my kits so watch for that this week!
Talk to you soon!

SSS February 2018 Card Kit 10 Cards 1 Kit (Part 2)

Just a quick share of cards 6 through 10 that I created with the Simon Says Stamp February Card kit. I actually created these cards a while ago, but I'm just now getting a chance to edit and upload the video. I really enjoyed working with this kit, but I'm ready to move on to new projects! I'm playing a little bit of catch up since things have been crazy around here the past couple of months! Still on my to-do list for March - the Simon Says Stamp March kit, the Hero Arts February kit, a Spring/Easter card series, and the Scrapping for Less Castles and Dreams card kit. I'll be busy, busy, busy!

As always, I'm happy to answer any questions about techniques or products that I use. Just leave a comment here or message me through my Facebook Page.

I have a full schedule of crafty goodness scheduled for March so stay tuned!

Scrapping for Less 'Castles and Dreams' Kit - Card #1

So I finally decided to take the leap and subscribe to the Scrapping for Less Flavor of the Month card kit! This month's kit 'Castles and Dreams' was just too fun to pass up! I'll be creating at least one card with each of the four collections within the kit. The kit sold out within a matter of hours so if you're interested in these kits a subscription is the way to go! The March kit will be released on March 31st and is supposed to be amazing as it's the first anniversary of the Flavor of the Month.

Today's card is from Collection 1 and I used Sketch 1. Each month's sketches can be downloaded on the Scrapping for Less website. The sweet stamp set is from Stamping Bella and the 6x6 papers from the Doodlebug Dragon Tails collection.

I'll be back soon with a card from collection #2!

SSS February 2018 10 Cards 1 Kit (Part 1)

Simon Says Stamp's February card kit was packed full of fun new products to try along with a fabulous stamp set of 'crafty' sentiments and images.
Here are my first five creations from this kit.

Card #1 A very simple, but pretty card. I used a MFT Stitched Basic Edges Die to create a border for my white card base with some of the patterned paper. The sentiment on this card also came from one of the papers. Some of the Studio Katia gems and a little  Wink of Stella were the finishing touches to this card.

Card #2 Another simple, but sweet card I created using some of the patterned paper. I made an A2 size card panel with the sewing themed paper and then heat embossed my sentiment on the orangey yellow paper that also came in the paper pack. The finishing touch was the sewing machine wood veneer which I colored with an alcohol marker and then covered with Wink of Stella. I used some of the Studio Katia gems on this card as well.

Card #3 This card was fun to create as I really had no idea where I was going with it and just wanted to play around with the Daniel Smith watercolor sampler that came in the kit. I think it turned out pretty cool. One of a kind for sure. :) For the sentiment on this card I just heat embossed one of the sentiments with white embossing powder on black cardstock.

Card #4 While this card did not work out as I envisioned, I think it turned out cute. I cut out shapes (originally planned as triangles) from the typewriter patterned paper that would draw the eye to the silver heat embossed 'thanks' sentiment. I love that the sentiment looks like old typewriter keys making it perfect for the paper that I chose. For a little shimmer, I added some Wink of Stella to all those little typewriters.

Card #5 For this card, I used some bright and pretty Hero Arts inks to create a card panel with the striped border stamp. The background for the sentiment was created by ink blending with some mustard seed Distress Ink. Both were cut out with Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Dies. A little bit of Glossy Accents over the 'hello' portion of the sentiment added a some dimension. All were layered on a yellow A2 size card base.

Five more cards from the kit will be coming soon!

Love & Hugs,
